Safety Isn’t Pleasure
It happens so often on this path.
Someone emerges from years of trauma, grief, or dysregulation.
They do the work to soothe their nervous system.
They learn to feel safe in their body again.
And it feels miraculous.
They think: “I finally feel safe. Isn’t that the goal?”
But here’s the truth most healing spaces won’t tell you:
Safety is not the summit. It’s the base camp.
Safety is a prerequisite for pleasure — but it is not the same thing as pleasure.
And if you stop there… you’ll never reach the exquisite life that your soul is truly here to taste.
Safety means your body no longer feels under threat.
Your system shifts from hypervigilance to regulation.
You come out of freeze, fight, flight, or fawn.
It’s beautiful. It’s necessary.
But here’s the trap: because the relief is so profound, many people unconsciously believe they’ve reached the pinnacle.
“I feel safe now — this must be what bliss feels like.”
No, love. It’s what not suffering feels like.
True pleasure?
True arousal, aliveness, bliss?
That’s another layer entirely.
Pleasure = Willingness to Feel MORE
Pleasure is not neutral. It’s not just calm.
Pleasure is charged, alive, vibrant.
To feel deep pleasure, you must open yourself to greater sensation — not just the absence of fear, but the presence of bliss.
This requires a leap.
Because once you feel safe, the next edge is no longer about surviving — it’s about being willing to FEEL more:
More turn-on.
More desire.
More expansion.
More unknown.
And that’s why many won’t choose it — because it asks for devotion beyond the familiar.
This is exactly what I teach in my work around ego mastery:
The Survival Ego seeks safety.
The Validation Ego seeks external approval.
The Bliss Ego seeks true pleasure, expression, and freedom.
The Sovereign Self transcends ego and lives as the Creator, choosing limitless experiences.
Most “healing” spaces help people graduate from Survival Ego.
But they don’t teach how to live beyond that — in bliss, devotion, mastery.
That’s the work of a Turned On Life.
So if you’re reading this and realizing:
“I’ve worked so hard to feel safe… but now life feels flat…”
Good.
That means you’re ready for your next edge.
Safety brought you to the doorway.
But pleasure will take you through it.
And that’s where your true life — the one of wealth, love, bliss, success — begins to unfold.
Are you ready to leap?
In sovereign pleasure,
Sharon
