The Pleasure Renaissance

The Pleasure Renaissance is a cultural project exploring what happens when aliveness becomes the center of human life again.

For most of history, people have organized their lives around survival, duty, and social roles. Today, those structures are changing faster than our ideas about identity, relationships, and purpose can keep up. The result is a world where many people feel disconnected from themselves, from each other, and from any real sense of meaning.

The Pleasure Renaissance is an attempt to offer a different model — one where growth is guided by aliveness, curiosity, and conscious choice instead of fear, habit, or obligation.

What the Pleasure Renaissance is

This work includes books, games, and media that explore how human beings become more self-directed, more aware, and more capable of shaping their own lives.

It asks questions like:

• What if pleasure is not indulgence, but information?
• What if identity is something we create, not something we inherit?
• What if relationships exist to help us grow, not just to keep us safe?
• What if life works more like a game than a script?

The goal is not to escape the world, but to learn how to live in it more consciously.

Why pleasure?

In this work, pleasure does not mean constant happiness, and it does not mean sexuality alone.

Pleasure means aliveness — the feeling of being fully present, engaged, and responsive to life.

When people lose contact with that signal, they begin to live by habit, fear, or social expectation. When they reconnect with it, they become more creative, more honest, and more capable of building lives that actually fit them.

The Pleasure Renaissance is about learning how to live from that signal again.

My work and role

My work as a writer and speaker is to develop language, stories, and systems that help people understand their own experience more clearly.

I do this through the Hieros Codex book series, the development of interactive projects like the board game You Are the Game, and media conversations about identity, pleasure, and human development.

Together, these projects form the foundation of the Pleasure Renaissance — a long-term exploration of what it means to live as the author of your life instead of the character.

You Are the Renaissance

This is not a program.
It is not a belief system.

It is a body of work about self-authorship, human growth, and the possibility of a culture built around aliveness instead of survival.

The books, the game, the conversations, and the media are all part of the same question:

What becomes possible when people remember they are not only living their lives, but designing them?

Founded by Erotic Mystic and author Sharon Marie Scott, The Pleasure Renaissance bridges mysticism, neuroscience, and sensual embodiment — teaching that pleasure is not the opposite of discipline, but the higher octave of devotion.
